The Making

From worn climbing ropes to trail-ready leashes, each piece is cleaned, inspected, and handcrafted.

1) Cleaning

Every retired climbing rope is thoroughly washed to remove dirt, chalk, and grime accumulated from years on the wall.

2) Drying

Clean ropes are hung to air dry completely before inspection — preserving the integrity of the fibers and preparing them for cutting.

3) Preparation

Once dry and inspected, the rope is measured and cut to length.

4) Double Stitched

Every leash is sewn with double-stitched T90 bonded nylon thread. In this pattern, the stitching is rated to at least 2 kN and capable of holding 200+ lbs static — the limit of what we could test in the basement.

5) Taped & Sealed

Each end is wrapped with 3M Super 88 professional grade electrical tape — rated to withstand extreme cold and heat so your leash holds up in any condition.

6) Heat Shrink Finish

Each leash is finished with durable, weather-resistant 3/4 inch heat shrink wrap for a smooth, comfortable feel that lasts.
